How Does it Work?
THE PROCESS OF A SPIRITUAL DIRECTION SESSION
In our monthly conversations, we listen for God's “still small voice” as He enlightens, confirms and guides you. Each session can incorporate the following:
• Centering. We begin with a time of silence to help you connect with your own inner stillness and open to the inner promptings and insights from God.
• Reflection. You share what you've chosen to bring for reflection. This may be a follow- up to the previous meeting or a current situation that is troubling, challenging or encouraging you.
• Discernment. In response to your reflection, I ask questions to discern how God is moving in, through and around the events in your life and what that may mean for you on a deeper level. We do this work of discernment together, in God's presence, and it is here that illumination often happens as you speak out things that may have been hidden in your heart and previously unknown to you.
• Grounding. Based on our discernment of your current deep need(s), we will use such tools as prayer, Scripture, forgiveness, instruction, gratitude, etc. to establish a practical basis for you to move forward in the coming month.
Some sessions will provide a giant leap in your spiritual growth, while other sessions will leave you pondering deeper questions as you move slowly through a challenge. Every session, however, will consistently put you back in touch with God, making your path clearer and your heart closer to God.
SESSION FEE
Sessions can be conducted by phone, Zoom or in person. Meetings are scheduled monthly for 60 minutes at a rate of $70. For more intensive focus, clients may choose to schedule longer sessions, at additional cost, or more frequent sessions.
Payment is due at the time of service by check, cash, Venmo or card through Square (for a service fee)
There is no charge for the initial 30 minute consultation.
INSURANCE
Due to the increasingly restrictive criteria of insurance companies, including difficulty obtaining authorization and limitations on the frequency and number of sessions, I don’t accept insurance. Instead, I seek to provide overall cost-effectiveness by keeping my rates relatively low. (The average fee is up to $150 per session.)
**If you would like to submit a claim to your insurance on your own, I will help as much as I can.
CONFIDENTIALITY
I regard the information that you share during your sessions with me with the highest respect and I hold it in the strictest of confidence. There are three situations in which I am required by law to break this confidentiality: when I believe that you intend to harm yourself or another person, when I believe that a child has been or will be harmed, and when I am subpoenaed by a court of law.
